Landmark UFO Cases
Landmark UFO cases are extremely well documented cases, generally with multiple credible witnesses and on occasion have confirmed radar detection. Virtually all these cases were covered in the print media, made national TV news or have had documentaries made about them. Each case below has a short synopsis of the story with a link to a much more detailed version including pictures and video (when available). These cases will be modified as information becomes available and more cases will be continuously added.
Operation Mainbrace
This case has multiple military credible witnesses from multiple countries (USA, England, New Zealand, Denmark etc) possible Presidental sighting and "excellent military photos" never released to the public. This case involves UFOs and USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects), you could not ask for much more believable evidence then Operation Mainbrace.

Shag Harbor UFO/USO Incident
UFOs have been seen by many people all over the world and for a planet where two thirds of the surface is covered by water it should come as no surprise to the eclectic that there is more life hidden away from our eyes than what we get to see on TV. USOs or Unidentified Submerged Objects have been seen by many explorers, sailors, naval officers, fisherman and regular folk getting around the planet in their ships and boats. Deep Sea UFOs is a History Channel Documentary on the phenomena of underwater UFOs with some interesting case studies of USO encounters tracing far back to the time when Columbus and his crew were crossing the Bermuda Triangle and sighted mysterious underwater lights which top UFO researchers like Stanton Friedman believe correspond to USO activity reported in modern times.

The Del Rio Texas Case
DEL RIO, Texas – April 21 - 11:42 (video)
You've heard of Roswell, but some people believe Del Rio, Texas is a more compelling case for the crash of an alien spacecraft in 1950. For a time in the early 50's the flying saucer phenomena was headline news, thousands of sightings by credible witnesses. People reported seeing a large craft moving at a high rate of speed, honeycombed on the bottom with a dome and light on top. But no rash of sightings quite compares with what happened on a winter's day in 1950, a strange sequence of events that ended with the crash of something near Del Rio, Texas.

The Cash Landrum Case
Vicky Landrum and Betty Cash
December 29 1980 Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Colby Landrum (Vickie’s seven-year-old grandson) were driving home to Dayton, Texas. It was 9pm when a bright light in the trees above them forced them to stop the vehicle. They got out of the car to inspect, Vickie (a devout Christian) believing that it was the second coming of Jesus. They noticed the object omitting the light was shaped like a diamond before suddenly they were hit with an intense blast of heat. The mystery object then vanished leaving the women suffering severe radiation burns, nausea and diarrhoea. They would continue to suffer from the same symptoms, plus excruciating headaches, on the same date every year.
The Roswell UFO Case
On July 2, 1947, an object crash landed on a ranch, approximately 75 miles northwest of Roswell, leaving a large field of debris. The local air base at Roswell investigated after the rancher first reported it to Roswell authorities on July 6. On July 8, the Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) announced it had recovered a "flying disk". A few hours after the initial "flying disk" press release, U.S. Army Air Force officials stated that it was not a UFO, but a weather balloon. When the question of what crashed was revived in the early 1980s, the "Roswell Incident" became a focus of conspiracy theorists, "abductees," and UFO investigators. It is believed the crashed UFO's were used for 'reverse engineering', explaining the rapid advancement in technology since that time. Read one of our post that outlines all the new technologies that have been developed since the Roswell incident. The Stephen Milachak UFO Case
Stephen Michalak claimed to have seen two UFOs while exploring near Manitoba Canada at Falcon Lake, May 1967. The two UFOs appeared in the sky and one landed very close to where he was standing. The UFO that landed opened, revealing a very bright light. He touched the side of the UFO only to be burned through the glove he was wearing.

LINCOLN, N.H. (AP) — Fifty years after Betty and Barney Hill reported seeing a flat, cigar-shaped craft hovering over them in New Hampshire's White Mountains, the state has put up a historical marker noting their close encounter with a UFO.
Returning from a vacation in Canada on Sept. 19, 1961, the Hills arrived home in Portsmouth puzzled by stains and tears on Betty's dress, scuffs on Barney's shoes and shiny spots on their car. Their watches weren't working. When they got home, they realized they had "lost" about two hours of time. They called family and reported the event to Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth the next day.

The Chiles / Whitted Ecounter - 1948
Pilots as UFO witnesses is not rare or new but in today's world too many pilots do not report UFO sightings because it jeopardizes their jobs and brings on a certain amount of ridicule, in 1948 this was one of the most credible sightings from both pilots and people on the ground.
Many people in the aviation industry will tell you privately that if you knew how many airplane near-misses there were each and every day, it would certainly concern you. But what if this also was happening between UFOs and planes? There are at least two well documented cases of this very thing. One of them is the Gorman Dogfight with a UFO which occurred in 1948, and a sighting which occurred over Montgomery, Alabama, on July 24, 1948.

The Belgium wave has obtained classic status in UFO lore. With over 1,000 witnesses, confirmed radar sightings, plane radar lock-ins, and military confirmations, the fact that an unknown craft moved across the country of Belgium cannot be denied. The case is also important for its unique information sharing. Civilian and military officials were forthcoming with the reports, and set a model for others to follow in their pursuit to uncover the mystery behind the UFO enigma.
Chicago O'hare Airport Case
This is an important story as it has been witnesses by multiple pilots, ramp workers, cargo workers and host of other airline employees. When the UFO departed it went straight up with such force and speed that it punched a circular hole in the sky. A Chicago TV reported is speaking with the guy from the Tribune who broke the story, they are speaking in private a few minutes before they went on the air. At the time it got worldwide attention.

Mexican Air Force Pilots Film UFOs
Location: Over Campeche state, Mexico
Mexican Air Force pilots filmed 11 unidentified flying objects in the skies over southern Campeche state in Mexico, a Mexican Defense Department spokesman confirmed. A videotape was made widely available to the news media. The lights were filmed using infrared equipment. They appeared to be flying at an altitude of about 3,500 meters (11,480 feet), and allegedly surrounded the Air Force jet.

This was one of the most credible cases of its era and has never been fully explained other then to say that "Lt. Gorman had a close encounter with an unknown object."
He got to within 1,000 feet of the flying object and got a good look at it. Gorman would later make this statement:
"It was blinking on and off. As I approached, however, the light suddenly became steady and pulled into a sharp left bank. I thought it was making a pass at the tower. I dived after it and brought my manifold pressure up to sixty inches but I couldn't catch up with the thing. It started gaining altitude and again made a left bank, I put my F-51 into a sharp turn and tried to cut the light off in its turn. By then we were at about 7,000 feet."
