Author Looking For Answers On Mysterious UFO Landing in Canada

Brantford author wants answers

Author Bob Mitchell looking for answers

Joe Borda believed a UFO landed on his Mount Pleasant tobacco farm in 1975 until the day he died. (The County of Brant  is a municipality in the Canadian province of Ontario.)

The incident went almost completely undocumented until earlier this year when freelance journalist, author and media consultant Bob Mitchell wrote and self published Incident at Pleasant Ridge-A Canadian UFO mystery.

He held a book signing at the Best Western Brant Park Inn and Suites Saturday to promote that and Intrusion Alien Encounters.

“I was at the (Alien Cosmic Expo) and I didn't have this book and people were asking for it, so I wanted to give people an opportunity to see it,” Mitchell said.

One of Canada's former top UFOlogists, Henry McKay tried to find information on the incident, but couldn't.

“It's very strange, there is almost no information available. What is, is in the book. Almost everyone who investigated or had anything to do with it is dead or hasn't come forward,” he said.

Mitchell said that faithful night on Borda's farm in something left a circular burn in the field which bent the crop and left a purple liquid on the ground.

“Whether is was a UFO or an experimental aircraft I don't know. I am not 100 per cent convinced what landed was extra terrestrial, but something landed,” Mitchell said.

Although Borda reported hearing voices when the incident happened telling him not to pay attention to what was happening and to walk away.

“That's a common theme among people who experience encounters,” he said.

Mitchell said he is always looking for more information about what happened at the farm and has had some leads. Some people even say Mrs. Borda is still alive, but Mitchell hasn't found her.

“Not for lack of looking,” he said.
