The Oldest Globe To Represent The New World Discovered - Photos

The oldest known globe to represent the New World has been discovered, researchers say.

Dated to the early 1500s, the globe was likely crafted in Florence, Italy, from the lower halves of two ostrich eggs. It is engraved with then-new and vague details about the Americas garnered from European explorers like Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci. It is also decorated with monsters, intertwining waves and even a shipwrecked sailor, according to the Washington Map Society, which published a study of the artifact in its journal The Portolan.

"When I heard of this globe, I was initially skeptical about its date, origin, geography and provenance, but I had to find out for myself," S. Missinne, an independent Belgian research scholar, said in a statement. "After all no one had known of it, and discoveries of this type are extremely rare. I was excited to look into it further, and the more I did so, and the more research that we did, the clearer it became that we had a major find."

The anonymous owner of the globe, who bought it in 2012 at the London Map Fair, allowed Missinne to investigate the globe. The researcher used carbon dating, computer tomography testing, an ink assessment, as well as a geographical, cartographic, and historical analysis.

He determined that the grapefruit-sized globe was made around 1504 and was likely used to cast the famous copper Lenox globe housed at the New York Public Library, which, until now, had been thought to be the oldest globe to show the Americas, dated to 1510.

"This is a major discovery, and we are pleased to be the vehicle for its announcement," Tom Sander, editor of The Portolan, said in a statement. "We undertook a very extensive peer review process to vet the article, which itself was based on more than a year of scientific and documentary research."

Of the 71 names on the ostrich egg globe, just seven lie in the Western Hemisphere. North America, which is represented as a group of scattered islands, is totally unlabeled and the globe includes one sentence: "HIC SVNT DRACONES," or "Here are the Dragons," according to the Washington Map Society.

The only three names shown in South America are Mundus Novus ("New World"), Terra de Brazil, and Terra Sanctae Crucis ("Land of the Holy Cross").

The Best UFO Sighting For August 2013, Video Compilation

Pentagon UFO Ranks As MUFONs Top Sightings in 2012

A recent study by the Mutual UFO Network says 2012 was a record year for UFO sightings, with one of the best cases reported in Milano, Texas. The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON)employs trained field investigators with backgrounds in science and law enforcement that interview witnesses to identify UFOs.

Most of the reports prove to be known celestial objects, the organization said, however, a small percentage of cases are deemed “true” and “credible” UFO sightings. Those cases are reviewed by a science board. Sightings reports increased from 5,650 in 2011 to 7,290 nationally in 2012, a 29 percent increase, a MUFON spokesperson said.

Several of those cases were reported in Texas. A witness in Milano has been credited with having as one of the strongest cases that cannot be identified by any known object.

Actual photo of pentagon UFO taken from 747 over South America
In all of the top 10 cases, witnesses describe the object to be a triangular craft that became translucent, a circular sphere that flew alongside private aircraft and disrupted its electrical system, a pentagon-shaped craft that hovered over a vehicle and the classic saucer-shaped craft that swayed from side-to-side. In the Milano case, the sighting was first reported in July of last year on Highway 36. A repeat event was later reported in January of this year.

In the first incident, two male witnesses saw a pentagon-shaped black object hovering over the highway in front of them, witnesses told investigators. At each apex of the pentagon were pulsating lights, with more intense lights at the center of the craft. Witnesses reported seeing panel lines or vents as they drove under the aircraft which was silent, a spokesperson said. The second sighting occurred in the same place by a different person about six months later. Reports show a woman and her son were headed in the same direction, northbound on Highway 36, and saw a similarly-described object, however, much wider across. In both instances, the drivers of the vehicle said they were too scared to stop, but the mother did capture cell phone video from a distance. Other Texas cities that made the list were Cleburne and Van Alstyne. MUFON is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization founded in 1969.

The Strangest Of All UFOs, Unidentified Submerged Objects -Documentary

A continued investigation into the "USO" phenomena, studying a 1992 incident off Catalina Island near Los Angeles to the continual UFO/USO activity surrounding the USS Roosevelt during her 20-year service.

The program covers the phenomena of unidentified flying and submerged objects, close encounters with alleged extraterrestrial life, and alleged military and government cover-up conspiracies.

Aliens Are Real, We Are Not Alone - Richard Phillips Author and Nuclear Physicist Disclosure

Richard Phillips
Richard Phillips has Top Secret Clearance and is a former Army Ranger officer and graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has worked on classified projects for the United States government at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he also earned his Master of Science in nuclear physics. He currently resides in Phoenix, Ariz., where he is employed by General Dynamics and works on military simulation software for the U.S. government. Author and nuclear physicist Richard Phillips believes life on other planets does exist. His belief stems from extensive classified research in aerospace technologies that he generated for the U.S. military.

Ever wondered if those fuzzy pictures of lights flying across the night sky are really alien aircraft? Do you think the government is really hiding UFOs at Area 51? If so, you may not be alone. According to The Associated Press, with over one third of the population saying Aliens actually do exist. Author and nuclear physicist Richard Phillips believes life on other planets does indeed exist. His belief stems from extensive classified research in aerospace technologies that he generated for the U.S. military. In his new sci-fi thriller book, "The Second Ship" Phillips explores the reality of mankind harnessing powerful alien technology and the implications the new technology would have on humanity. "Every new technology offers fascinating opportunities, but at a potential cost," says Phillips, who is a huge proponent of scientific research but believes every scientific theory is only a model of reality."

Technologies currently under investigation carry risks. For example, CERN scientists outside Geneva are proceeding with tests that could produce a micro black hole, thereby destroying our planet. Tonight on Night Fright we explore the possibilities of back engineered alien technology. Tonight on Night Fright we look at the secrecy of an ongoing extensive cover-up at Area 51. Tonight on Night Fright Stick around and get ready to be riveted to your seat. Strap in and hang on here we go!

What Does Bob Lazar Think Of Area 51 Disclosure by CIA?

Bob Lazar
The man who put Area 51 on the UFO map is not impressed by newly declassified CIA documents that acknowledge the existence of the facility but say it was used to test U-2 spy planes — not flying saucers.
"Everybody has known that for 25 years or so," said Bob Lazar, who came forward in 1989 with a tale of government scientists tinkering with alien spacecraft at a military base in the Nevada desert.
"Tell us something we don't know."

A controversial figure even in the UFO community, Lazar claimed that as a government scientist he was taken to Area 51 near Groom Lake and then put to work at a facility called S4 about 15 miles south.

By his account, flying discs powered by anti-matter reactors with seats too small for humans were being tested at S4 — reverse-engineered by the U.S. to create its own futuristic technology.

Although his story was ridiculed by skeptics, it turned Area 51 into a magnet for tourists, ufologists and conspiracy theorists.

The government had little to say about Area 51 until the release of a 20-year-old CIA history made public through a Freedom of Information request filed by George Washington University's National Security Archive back in 2005 and approved in June.

The document says the facility, which served as a gunnery range during World War II, was transformed into a test and training site for the U-2s and its successors, the Lockheed A-12 Oxcart, the D-21 Tagboard and even the F-117 stealth fighter.

The history makes no mention of extraterrestrial, spaceships or anything else that's out of this world.

Lazar, who said he now runs a private consulting firm and wants nothing to do with UFO enthusiasts, isn't surprised — saying all the extraterrestrial work went on at S4.

"That’s a minuscule baby step forward," Lazar said of the Area 51 disclosures. "Maybe a decade from now they’ll acknowledge there’s an S4."

Richard Boylan, who claims to have had encounters with "star visitors" along Nevada's so-called Extraterrestrial Highway 375, said he had to "stifle a yawn" when he heard the CIA had finally 'fessed up that Area 51 is an actual place.

After all, he said, he infiltrated the base and saw with his own eyes spacecraft being tested and flown and friendly visitors from outer space arriving to work with government scientists — activities that he believes are being covered up by a "shadow government."

"They say Area 51 is real? Duh!" he said. "That's not even one cent on the dollar of what the government knows and should be admitting to."

But others welcomed the CIA confirmation, limited as it was.

"It makes you feel a little bit better that not everybody is crazy," said Dirk Vander Ploeg, publisher of UFO Digest.

The belated acknowledgment is a reminder that the government is good at keeping secrets, he said.

"It makes you think if they have all this new aircraft and all this stealth technology, what else do they have out there? What else haven't they told us."

Alejandro Rojas, co-organizer of the International UFO Congress and an editor of Open Minds Magazine, said now that Area 51 is no longer being redacted from CIA documents, future Freedom of Information requests may yield more revelations.

And it might lend credence to other out-there theories.

"Once it got this association with aliens and UFOs, a lot of people doubted Area 51 even existed," said Rojas, who added that he is "agnostic" on the question of whether ET research was done at the site.

"There are people now going, 'Oh, it really does exist!' I hope it does demonstrate that a lot of what UFO researchers are saying is credible."

A Review Of the Better UFO Sightings in New York - Summer 2013

UFO over McDonough NY July 2013
Anyone who lives in New York knows the winters tend to be a bit harsh. Naturally, the number of UFO sighting reports drops, because there just aren't that many people outside enjoying the night sky.

January and February this year each had eight sighting reports. March had 12, and April had 15. As the ads for the Beers of Summer started appearing in May and June, so, too, UFO sightings began trending upwards, consistent with warmer evenings and people out and about. There were 20 reports in May, 21 in June, 27 in July and 32 in August through the 26th.

Let’s review some of the best highlights of what our New York neighbors have been seeing this summer.

  • 8 June: In Farmingdale, Long Island, several motorists pulled off the Northern State Parkway and watched in awe as 10 or more yellowish lights flew southward. What amazed them was that some of the lights broke off from the formation, while others seemed to join up and combine.
  • 10 June: In Jamestown, a husband seeing his wife off to work saw what appeared to be a flaming ball of light coming towards them. As the silent, bullet shaped object passed them, it curved off to the north east and out of sight.
  • 15 June: Several motorists pulled off of County Line road near Rochester and took cellphone pictures of about 12 balls of orange light moving eastward towards Ontario County.
  • 19 June: Three bright red orbs were seen at tree-top height in Frewsburg. On the same evening in Baiting Hollow, Long Island, kids at a senior prom observed a bright red object moving at great speed before disappearing.
  • 3 July: Two people in Brewerton saw a bright red sphere slowly moving across the sky. When one of them tried to photograph it with a cell phone, the phone stopped working.
  • 6 July: Several motorists driving in the Hudson valley toward New York City saw a night sky suddenly becoming illuminated with more than 25 bright lights of different colors. Several of the lights began omitting very bright light beams that sequentially flashed miles across the night sky.
  • 27 July: In Hamburg, five adults enjoying a campfire reported seeing a huge glowing cylinder moving east to west against the wind. It stopped, seemed to hover for a few minutes, then changed direction and moved northward and out of sight.
  • 10 August: In Ithaca, an observer reported what was described as an arrow shaped pattern of lights. The triangular pattern “drifted silently” and seemed to blot out the stars.
  • 16 August: In Brooklyn, there were reports of bright lights in groups of three flying in formation. There were calls to the 911 services, and many people were trying to take photos of them. One of the reports stated that the objects were triangular with three lights on the bottom.
  • 19 August: In Watervliet, a resident enjoying a summer evening on the porch saw a triangular light pattern moving across the sky. The witness reported that the lights were blinking in a Morse-code-like pattern. The craft hovered for a while then ascended northward at great speed and disappeared.

Of course, we will continue to post the best UFO sightings from around the world without wasting your time with every meaningless light in the sky.

Ancient UFO Engravings Discovered In India - Photo

Ancient Footprints, UFO Engraving Discovered

A photo of the large footprint. Photo: Nitish Priyadarshi

Ancient footprints on a rock and a nearby engraving of a mysterious flying object are causing a stir in a small Indian village.

According to the Epoch Times, Geologist Nitish Priyadarshi is studying the large footprints in Piska Nagri village, on the outskirts of Ranchi City in Jharkahnd State.

The footprints, which are 30cm long and 12cm wide, look like they were worn by someone in wooden sandals.

Local folklore claims the prints signify the presence of gods landing on site. God-kings of Indian mythology Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana are believed to have spent time in the area in search of Rama's wife, Sita, says the Epoch Times report.

Mr Priyadarshi said the imprints appeared to have been carved on granite.

"It may have been made by the local people manually at that time in memory of the visitors," he said. "The footprints and the flying object are on the same piece of rock on each other's side. Maybe they were engraved to show that the two king gods arrived at the place on a flying object.

"Seeing the weathering stage of the foot prints it can be said that the age of the foot prints may be thousands year old."

"We live in a highly advanced, technical world, but there are nevertheless a great many mysteries all around us. Ancient places and mysterious beings, sunken worlds and cultures, landscapes imbued with symbolism, unexplained apparitions, and unbelievable finds from ancient times-all of these remain mysteries for humankind, despite intense investigations."

Former NSA Employee Discloses UFO Information - Video

Mr. Kopf joined the Navy in 1969 and worked in communications part of the time on the USS JFK which was carrying nuclear weapons. In his testimony he tells how in the summer of 1979 all electronics and communications onboard the USS JFK stopped functioning when a huge glowing orange-yellow UFO hovered above. He personally saw this pulsating UFO, as did a number of others. When the ship finally returned to Norfolk, VA, men in suits arrived to interview various crewmembers.

Cigar Shaped UFO Observed Over Boston and Surrounding Area

This cigar shaped UFO was spotted over Boston and the surrounding area on August 1, 2013

Witness Testimony

It was approximately ten am or somewhere around that time. The Sun was still low and to my right rear from the building that I just walked out from. I decided to have a cigarette, while smoking said cigarette I was looking around the work site and while doing so I also looked to the sky, no particular area just around. When I looked to my left I observing a large low puffy cloud at that moment an object came from its cover. Just to make note, I probably would have missed said object if it had not reflected the sun off its surface. after leaving the cloud cover.
The sky was blue with visible clouds in the far distance. The object was long tube like, more like a cigarette and the clouds were low. Mistaking it for a jetliner was impossible. As it moved away from me in a westerly direction I noticed it made no noise what so ever. Its surface seemed opaque slightly white. As I stood there in awe watching it move over the site I did not blink for fear of losing contact with it, as it moved further away at a very high speed. It appeared to blend in with sky.
Its speed was not that swoosh movement we all see on the big and small screen it was a steady deliberate speed. It was low enough to know it wasn't a conventional craft. I've observed lots air craft around the plant and this did not fit the bill. It took all of about three seconds to leave my sight as it faded away over the the hills in the distance then the ocean beyond. I feel blessed to have seen it and hope to see more in the future.

Incredible UFO Filmed Hovering Over Oregon - Video/Photo

Silent UFO filmed over Oregon
Mojo is a serious UFO hunter out of Oregon that films some of the best UFOs in the United States. He seems to be intentionally coy about the exact location of the sightings. It is unclear if these are experimental military craft or bona-fide UFOs of an unknown origin. Either way they are fantastic catches.

Roswell Witness Passes Away - Jesse Marcel Jr. - Video

Jesse Marcel Jr. was the son of the U.S. Air Force intelligence officer who first examined the crash debris found by Mac Brazel near Roswell, New Mexico in early July of 1947. His father had told him about the event and had shown him and his mother some of the debris that was recovered. Marcel passed away in his home on Saturday, August 24, due to a suspected heart attack.
Marcel’s daughter, Denice, posted this message on her father’s Facebook account:
It is with a sad heart that I have to break this bad news to the world.
At the age of 76 my Dad Jesse Marcel Jr.’s life on earth has ended.
Although it is a very sad time for our entire family I am happy to know that he lived an eventful life.
I am so proud to be his daughter. He had taught me so many things in life and one of the more important things I learned from my Dad was to never back down in the face of adversity.
For anyone who wants to know I will be posting, the funeral arrangements once they have been made.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his children Jesse Jr., Myself, John, Marissa, Mackenzie , Aimee, Ashley and Mark and all of his grandchildren.
Although my Dad and Grandpa are no longer with us… The Roswell Legacy will live on FOREVER!!!

Marcel spent much of his life in the medical field and in the military, serving as a flight surgeon for many years. His latest period of active duty was shortly after his 68th birthday. Due to the Iraqi war he was called back into duty in October of 2004 and served as a flight surgeon for the 189th Attack Helicopter Battalion.

Jesse Marcel on active duty

Marcel completed his pre-med undergraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He then completed an internship at the New Orleans Charity Hospital. Marcel then joined the U.S Navy in 1962.
While in the Navy he was assigned to the USS Renville, which participated in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Marcel then went on to complete specialty training in Otolaryngology (ENT) at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. He retired from the Navy in 1971 and began a private practice in Helena, Montana.
In 1973 Marcel joined the Montana National Guard and went through flight training as a flight surgeon at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. He earned his wings in 1981. While at the National Guard, Marcel was appointed as the State Surgeon of the state of Montana. He retired from the military the second time in 1996 on his 60thbirthday. Soon after his 68th birthday he was called back into the military, serving from October 2004 to December 2005.
After returning to civilian life, Marcel took a position as a specialist in Otolaryngology at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Ft. Harrison, Montana. He had recently retired.

Jesse Marcel and his daughter Denice at the Roswell Museum
Marcel has always maintained that the material his father had shown him was not of this earth. A belief his father shared. He wrote a book about it in 2007 titled The Roswell Legacy: The Untold Story of the First Military Officer at the 1947 Crash Site.
Jesse Marcel Jr. was well regarded and well loved by those who knew him. His credibility, his love for his country, and his honesty were unquestionable. He will be missed by many, and we at Open Minds send our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

Asking the locals walking around I noticed they did not want to talk about it and they said they had not seen anything but it's hard not to have seen anything. Something weird out there in the desert.

Lively NSA Internet Discussion Mysteriously Disappears From UFO Forum

A thread in which posters explored the National Security Agency, Edward Snowden and related subject matter disappeared without explanation Saturday atUFO Casebook online discussion forum. The thread, which consisted of over 500 posts and some 3,700 views, was apparently restored Sunday afternoon, but moderators and administrators could offer no explanations for its temporary deletion.

"No one associated with the forum removed the thread," Casebook administrator B.J. Booth informed 'Orlando Paranormal Examiner' Sunday. "We are trying to find out what happened."

Mr. Booth added that it seemed the situation was some kind of malfunction. Such glitches are not entirely without precedence on Internet message boards, but given the overall circumstances, combined with the extent of attention some forum members had invested in the thread, the situation increased suspicions related to the American intelligence community.

"This thread was not deleted by anyone," an administrator from Conforums explained Sunday, "but for some reason, and I can't fathom how it happened, it 'dropped' out."

The administrator additionally stated that he would try to find how the situation happened in order to prevent it from recurring. Conforums is the service provider for the UFO Casebook forum.

Wait Just A Second - The Moon is All Wrong, Why?

Here is a collection of interesting quotes from scientists, authors, researchers, NASA insiders and star-gazers relating to the mysterious and often inexplicable nature of the moon:

If your not familiar with the book Who Built The Moon, check out this post for a brief synopsis.

NASA is launching new mission (Sept 7, 2013) to study what makes the moon glow, we know so little about the moon and what we do goes against all laws of physics. So we decided to take a look at some of the odd things that are actually known about the moon.

Isaac Asimov,
American author and professor of biochemistry at Boston University and Science Fiction writer. Asimov was one of the most prolific writers of all time.

"We cannot help but come to the conclusion that the Moon by rights ought not to be there. The fact that it is, is one of the strokes of luck almost too good to accept… Small planets, such as Earth, with weak gravitational fields, might well lack satellites… … In general then, when a planet does have satellites, those satellites are much smaller than the planet itself. Therefore, even if the Earth has a satellite, there would be every reason to suspect… that at best it would be a tiny world, perhaps 30 miles in diameter. But that is not so. Earth not only has a satellite, but it is a giant satellite, 2160 miles in diameter. How is it then, that tiny Earth has one? Amazing."

"The Moon, which has no atmosphere and no magnetic field, is basically a freak of nature"

Irwin Shapiro,
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics

“The best possible explanation for the Moon is observational error – the Moon doesn’t exist.’

"The Moon is bigger than it should be, apparently older than it should be and much lighter in mass than it should be. It occupies an unlikely orbit and is so extraordinary that all existing explanations for its presence are fraught with difficulties are none of them could be considered remotely watertight."

Christopher Knight and Alan Bulter
Book: Who Built the Moon?

The Moon has astonishing synchronicity with the Sun. When the Sun is at its lowest and weakest in mid-winter, the Moon is at its highest and brightest, and the reverse occurs in mid-summer. Both set at the same point on the horizon at the equinoxes and at the opposite point at the solstices. What are the chances that the Moon would naturally find an orbit so perfect that it would cover the Sun at an eclipse and appear from Earth to be the same size? What are chances that the alignments would be so perfect at the equinoxes and solstices?

Farouk El Baz,

"If water vapour is coming from the Moon’s interior is this serious. It means that there is a drastic distinction between the different phases of the lunar interior – that the interior is quite different from what we have seen on the surface."

Mikhail Vasin, Alexander Shcherbakov,
Societ Academy of Sciences, 1970.

"Is the moon a creation of an alien intelligence?"

Dr Harold Urey,
Nobel Prize for Chemistry

"I’m terribly puzzled by the rocks from the Moon and in particular of their titanium content."

Dr S Ross Taylor,
Geochemist of lunar chemical analysis,

Said the problem was that maria plains the size of Texas had to be covered with melted rock containing fluid titanium. He said you would not expect titanium ever to be hot enough to do that, even on Earth, and no one has ever suggested that the Moon was hotter than the Earth.

"What could distribute titanium in this way? Highly advanced technology developed and operated by entities that are immensely more technologically advance than humans."
Dr. Gordon MacDonald,

"it would seem that the Moon is more like a hollow than a homogenous sphere’. He surmised that the data must have been wrong – but it wasn’t."

Carl Sagan,

"A natural satellite cannot be a hollow object."

Dr. Sean C Solomon,
Massachusetts Institute of Technology

"The Lunar Orbiter experiments had vastly improved knowledge of the Moon’s gravitational field and indicated the frightening possibility that the Moon might be hollow."

University of Arizona Lon Hood
"We knew that the Moon’s core was small, but we didn’t know it was this small… This really does add weight to the idea that the Moon’s origin is unique, unlike any other terrestrial body."

NASA scientists
The Apollo 12 mission to the Moon in November 1969 set up seismometers and then intentionally crashed the Lunar Module causing an impact equivalent to one ton of TNT. The shockwaves built up for eight minutes, and NASA scientists said the Moon ‘rang like a bell.

Maurice Ewing,
American geophysicist and oceanographer

"As for the meaning of it, I’d rather not make an interpretation right now, but it is as though someone had struck a bell, say, in the belfry of the a church a single blow and found that the reverberation from it continued for 30 minutes."

Ken Johnson,
Supervisor of the Data and Photo Control department during the Apollo missions

"The Moon not only rang like a bell, but the whole Moon wobbled in such a precise way that it was almost as though it had gigantic hydraulic damper struts inside it."

Moon rocks have been found to contain processed metals, including brass and mica, and the elements Uranium 236 and Neptunium 237 that have never been found to occur naturally.

Dr. D L Anderson,
Professor of geophysics and director of the seismological laboratory,
California Institute of Technology

"The Moon is made inside out and that its inner and outer compositions should be the other way around."

Dr. Robin Brett,
NASA Scientist

"It seems much easier to explain the nonexistence of the moon than its existence."

Clear Footage of UFO Over Georgia After a Bizarre Thunderstorm

YouTuber Margaret Pfeiffer was filming the aftereffects of lightning strikes on her property and the property of her neighbor when she filmed a strange object apparently plunging out of the sky at an angle.

She only got a few seconds of the elongated reflective object as it seemed to fly quickly towards the ground at an angle before she lost sight of the object behind some trees. In the description for the video Pfeiffer says she does not feel the object was a plane, and speculates that it might be a drone or a UFO. She says:
I captured this after the fire [lightning strike] from across the street here. Say what you will but, this has no wing's as a plane would have. Watch in full screen & keep pausing. There isn't even a shadow for the wing area. I believe this is a drone or UFO!!

More UFOs Spotted Along India/China Border - Photo

The Indian Army units have reportedly spotted objects reported to be unidentified flying object (UFO), hovering in the sky along the Line of Actual Control in Jammu and Kashmir state, according to PTI.

The mysterious object was spotted by army troops on 4 August in Lagan Khel area of Demchok, Ladakh. The incident has been reported to the army headquarters.

Last year, army units and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) reported more than 100 UFO sightings. The recent sighting has been reported after some gap, PTI quoted sources as saying.

Defense Minister A K Anthony told Parliament that "there is no conclusive proof of sighting of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) over the Sino-Indian border."

Earlier, there were reports that a science research institute discovered that the objects in the sky were actually the planets - Jupiter and Venus, which can be seen from the high altitude and thin atmosphere terrain of Ladakh.

According to the research institute, army units might have mistaken the two planets as UFOs.

However, it is not clear whether the army and the government have accepted the research institute's findings.

In November 2012, ITBP has sent a report to Delhi headquarters describing the mysterious entities as "Unidentified Glowing Objects". It also said that the objects were not aerial vehicles (UAVS), drones or even low earth-orbiting satellites.

"These were not unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVS), drones or even low earth-orbiting satellites," said army officials who had studied the hazy photographs taken by ITBP, the India Today report said.

Temporary Tattoos Can Allow You To Speak Telepathically

Temporary electronic tattoos could soon help people fly drones with only thought and talk seemingly telepathically without speech over smartphones, researchers say.

Commanding machines using the brain is no longer the stuff of science fiction. In recent years, brain implants have enabled people to control robotics using only their minds, raising the prospect that one day patients could overcome disabilities using bionic limbs or mechanical exoskeletons.

But brain implants are invasive technologies, probably of use only to people in medical need of them. Instead, electrical engineer Todd Coleman at the University of California at San Diego is devising noninvasive means of controlling machines via the mind, techniques virtually everyone might be able to use.

His team is developing wireless flexible electronics one can apply on the forehead just like temporary tattoos to read brain activity.

"We want something we can use in the coffee shop to have fun," Coleman says.

The devices are less than 100 microns thick, the average diameter of a human hair. They consist of circuitry embedded in a layer or rubbery polyester that allow them to stretch, bend and wrinkle. They are barely visible when placed on skin, making them easy to conceal from others.

The devices can detect electrical signals linked with brain waves, and incorporate solar cells for power and antennas that allow them to communicate wirelessly or receive energy. Other elements can be added as well, like thermal sensors to monitor skin temperature and light detectors to analyze blood oxygen levels.

Using the electronic tattoos, Coleman and his colleagues have found they can detect brain signals reflective of mental states, such as recognition of familiar images. One application they are now pursuing is monitoring premature babies to detect the onset of seizures that can lead to epilepsy or brain development problems. The devices are now being commercialized for use as consumer, digital health, medical device, and industrial and defense products by startup MC10 in Cambridge, Mass.

The Neural Interaction Lab led by UC San Diego bioengineering professor Todd Coleman is working with Mary J. Harbert, MD, director of neonatal neurology UCSD and Rady Children’s Hospital, to study the use of stamp-sized wearable patches of tiny circuits, sensors, and wireless transmitters to replace bulky wires currently used to monitor newborns in the neonatal ICU. The greatest advance in the neonatal ICU for premature babies has been stabilizing the heart and lung. But nowadays, experts are increasingly focusing on brain injury: under-development of the cerebral vasculature, hemorrhage, and seizures commonly occur in premies. If left unchecked, they can lead to epilepsy or cognitive development problems. Image courtesy Todd Coleman/UCSD.
Electronic telekinesis? Digital telepathy?

In past studies, Coleman’s team found that volunteers could use caps studded with electrodes to remotely control airplanes and flew an unmanned aerial vehicle over cornfields in Illinois. Although the electronic tattoos currently cannot be used to pilot planes, “we’re actively working on that,” Coleman says.

These devices can also be put on other parts of the body, such as the throat. When people think about talking, their throat muscles move even if they do not speak, a phenomenon known as subvocalization. Electronic tattoos placed on the throat could therefore behave as subvocal microphones through which people could communicate silently and wirelessly.

"We’ve demonstrated our sensors can pick up the electrical signals of muscle movements in the throat so that people can communicate just with thought," Coleman says. Electronic tattoos placed over the throat could also pick up signals that would help smartphones with speech recognition, he added.

Invasive brain implants remain better at reading brain activity, Coleman notes.

But neuroscientist Miguel Nicolelis at Duke University Medical Center says there is a need for noninvasive technologies such as these for the brain. “People will want to navigate environments just by thinking, or play games just by thinking,” says Nicolelis, who did not take part in this research.

Coleman detailed his group’s most recent findings in Boston on Feb. 17 at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

The Neural Interaction Lab led by UC San Diego bioengineering professor Todd Coleman is working with Ricardo Gil da Costa, PhD, at the Salk Institute to examine the use of wearable flexible electronics on the forehead to monitor congnitive impairment with systems that are minimally obtrusive. These patches of sensors monitor electrical rhythms of the brain and can wirelessly transmit information optically (via LEDs) or electromagnetically (via flexible antennas) to provide quantitative measures of attentional modulation that co-vary with the progression of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and schizophrenia. These minimally obtrusive wearable electronics provide promise for future clinical brain monitoring applications for hospitals and laboratories, outpatient clinics or even at home. Top 10 UFO Sightings in China During 2010

2010 Top ten UFO sightings in China

Educating Humanity - Editor's note:
In 2010 many UFOs were reported to have "visited" China. Many people think China is the new UFO hotspot, so we have taken a look at the the first full year of UFOs that have a little time to register with people and to be debunked. While some of these sightings were clearly misidentified conventional objects or explainable events many remain a complete mystery!
Residents were thrilled to spot the shining objects that flew faster than something is suppose to, or just floated in the sky and disappeared in a heartbeat. Some were captured on video for further inspection, in the search box type in China UFO to see a full list with video when available.

We are of the mind that when a so called "expert" gives his/her explanation for a UFO sighting it is definitely not the end of the story, they have simply given their best "guess" as to what they think it might be.

We also believe that these experts only search in the data banks of their own reality, which is understandable. Something that cannot be explained within their set of realities is not even offered as a possibility. That being said take it for what it is worth when reading the experts dismissal  of some of these events.

1. Pujiang, Zhejiang province, Sept 3
Wang Chunlin, of Pujiang, Zhejiang province, told the local media that he had a video clip of a UFO sighting and he promised that the video was real. Another resident, Yang Zhenhai, saw the shiny object in the sky first and spread the news in an online chat group. Wang was also in that group, so he went to shoot the object on video.

Staff members at Hangzhou International Airport saw the object through their monitoring equipment about 21:00, and immediately shut down the airport and many flights were delayed. The airport staff said they could not look at the object directly, but some Hangzhou residents claimed they saw a UFO that day about 17:00. No evidence surfaced that what they saw was the same object that appeared near the airport.
3. Leshan, Sichuan province, July 26
Three shiny objects resembling the sun appeared in the sky about 8 pm and many Leshan residents reported seeing them. They lingered for more than 10 minutes. Wang Sichao, an astronomer from the Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that may have been caused by refraction of the sun's rays.

4. Chongqing, March 21
About 8 pm, people began discussion on the local BBS about some shiny objects they saw. The objects were described to be two to four shiny objects moving swiftly across the sky. Local astronomers said that may have been caused by refraction of lightning.

It was a stormy day in Hong Kong, Sept 8, and many residents said they saw a UFO. The object was described to be round with a row of lights. Wang Sichao, an astronomer at the Purple Mountain Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that may have been caused by refraction of lightning.

6. Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Aug 11
An extremely shiny object flew at a high speed and became a hot topic on local BBS. It was described to be "a diameter of 20 centimeters and a length of 120 centimeters, with a yellow front end and a light green back end." Some residents said that children feared the shiny object and cried. Some residents from Guilin and Nanning cities said that they also saw the object. Some astrophiles explained it was a meteor.
7.Taiyuan, Shanxi province, Oct 11
Local media said that two shiny objects appeared in the sky on the evening of Oct 11. One object was big and the other small. No reasonable explanation has ever been offered by the "experts".

 8. Pingyao, Shanxi province, Sept 22-23
Two young photographers, Gu Peiwen and Sun Jiali, found in their photos a shiny object that appeared when they were trying to shoot some night scenes of Pingyao. A young woman who was just passing through also was sure that she saw the object in the photos. The object was flat with two light beams.

9. Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Sept 11
Local air traffic management bureau saw a UFO through their monitoring equipment 40 kilometers east of Baotou about 20:00 and told the airport in Baotou to rearrange some flights. At 22:00, the flights returned to normal.

10. Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, June 30
In the evening many Urumqi residents saw a shiny round object flying slowly to the east, with a light behind it. The next day it became a hot topic on the local BBS. Some astronomers said the object actually was a missile launched by the US military.
