New Poll Shows Many Believe in UFOs & Conspiracy Theories

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Do UFO’s exist? Was Princess Diana’s death really an assassination?

A new study suggests many of us believe in conspiracy theories.

“The one that shocked me the most is 38 per cent of British Columbians believe scientists have found a cure for cancer but that governments and/or pharmaceutical companies are withholding that information,” says Steve Mossop with Insights West, which conducted the survey.

“If you do any search of any online conspiracy theories, it’s one [seen] quite consistently… To see that number of people of who believe it is quite amazing to me.”

“That human beings have been cloned… 29 per cent [at least somewhat] believe that,” adds Mossop.

About a third of us believe Princess Diana’s death was an assassination and just slightly fewer believe 9/11 was a US government conspiracy.

The survey also suggests about five per cent of us believe Elvis is still alive. When it comes to UFOs, more than half of us somewhat believe they exist.

About 10 per cent at least somewhat believe that lunar landings were a hoax and the same percentage think Osama Bin Laden is still alive.
