Jetman, Yves Rossy takes to the sky's of Rio: Video
Yves Rossy better know as Jetman has made another historic flight, this time completing a flight over the skies of Rio. Yves is the only person to fly with a fixed wing backpack powered by four jet engines. Yves stepped out of a perfectly functioning helicopter over Laga Rodigo de Freits, where he shot off at full speed around Ipanema, Copacabana, Sugar Loaf Mountain before deploying his parachute and safely landing at Copacaban Beach.
Rossy, a Swiss aviator travels between 200-300 kph, controls the carbon-kevlar jetwing by a simple throttle in his hand. The steering is done simply by adjusting his shoulders, body and legs to bank left or right and descend.
Rossy has crossed the English Channel and flew in formation with two L-39c Albatros Jets over the Swiss Alps.
