UFO, Witness Did Not Report UFO Crash, Upstate New York

Parent apologizes for not checking out UFO Crash
A New York parent is apologetic for not investigating or calling authorities immediately after witnessing - with daughter in tow - a "round, white, brightly lit object with a blue halo" seemingly "crashing" into a nearby wooded area, according to September 17, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The two were outside with the family dog when they began to look and talk about the sky when the event occurred.

"As I was saying this, a huge, white sphere with a beautiful blue halo/aura around it appeared suddenly, in fast decent at about a 45 degree angle," the witness stated. "It appeared to be going to crash."
The object was in a descent directly into a wooded area.
"I waited and listened, but heard nothing. I watched for an explosion, none, I waited, but never saw the craft leave the trees."

The witness did not call authorities at the time of the event, but eventually reported the case to MUFON.

"For those of you who are asking the exact same question I would ask if I read this story, why didn't I go check it out? I live in the country, I am not familiar with that area of woodland, it was pitch black outside, cold and I am a middle aged woman. Frankly I was afraid, and I didn't wish to scare my daughter anymore than she already was. I may go in the morning though."

No town name was mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report, which was filed on September 17, 2011. The events occurred on September 15, 2011. (Note: the witness filed the MUFON report as a 2010 case, but from the witness testimony, I am speculating that the year was inputted incorrectly, and should read 2011. I will "stand corrected" if I am wrong.) No images or videos were included with the report.
